The City of Brainerd is surrounded by the natural, scenic beauty, and wildness of Minnesota’s north-central forests, where the Laurentian Mixed Forest Biome of the north meets and mingles with the Eastern Broadleaf Forest Biome. Along the Mississippi River corridor, the resultant diversity and complexity of ecosystem types reaches into the city.
